We would like to post an update about the District Basketball Tournament. There is some uncertainty with the weather over the next couple of days. As of right now, we plan to play the tournament as regularly scheduled. If the weather tomorrow is such that teams can't travel, our games will be moved to Thursday morning. We would begin games at 10 for the girls and the boys would play at 1. The tournament must be completed as it impacts state seeding. If things change, I will notify you as soon as I know. The games will be streamed throughout the tournament on the following site. http://www.stormysports.net/NFHS
Our Girls will play Longmont Christian at 4 on Wednesday at NJC for Districts. The Boys will play Prairie at 7. The bus will leave at 2 on Wednesday. Winners advance in the tournament. Here is the link to the bracket. There is a tab at the bottom for girls and boys. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Xz9o9s4bad0BGPyd1DABt9XNyjBRhLQM/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=106960830386168924127&rtpof=true&sd=true
Last day of WV FFA Week. The FFA Hired Hand Event will be March 7th with dinner starting at 6 pm & the auction starting at 7 pm. Tickets are sold at the door. Please join us that fun night for dinner, hire a FFA member for spring chores, and make a bid on an auctioned item!

The FFA members brought in their animals and farm equipment to share with the preschool and elementary students for Ag in the Classroom. We had chickens, rabbits, tortoise, calf, miniature horse, miniature mule and an alpaca all in the Ag shop. What a great day!!!

The preschool and elementary students came down to the Ag room and shop for Ag in the Classroom. Everyone learned about blueberries! We even had a poll, and frozen blueberries won as their favorite in the taste test when compared to fresh and dried.

Winter Sports pictures are now available on Dustin Price's website. You may click here to find them. https://buy.dustinpricephotography.com/gallery/weldonvalleywarriors/
Our FFA members dressed up in their Western Wear today for FFA week. Members and Mrs. Heid also attended the FFA State Degree Review in preparation of them applying for their Colorado FFA State Degree.

Tuesday of FFA week the 8th graders came down to the Ag room for 8th Grade Orientation. The 8th graders had two team projects and a short presentation by the FFA officers about the opportunities in the Ag Ed program.

To kick off FFA Week, FFA members prepared lunch today for the WV staff.

The Ag Ed students enjoyed our tour of Leprino Foods last week. It is an amazing process; the students loved seeing the processes required to make Mozzarella cheese.

Keep an eye out for this post in the Fort Morgan Times!

Washington DC and New York Travelers! The last day we are in the Washington area we will be visiting Mt. Vernon, the estate of George and Martha Washington. This beloved estate was largely designed by the President as he considered himself an architect. Here are some photos from the 2021 Weldon Valley trip to DC. My daughter is pictured enjoying the view from Washington's porch overlooking the Potomac River. In the museum we will also be viewing Washington's false teeth. Contrary to popular belief, they were not made of wood, but were made from human teeth and probably cow and horse teeth.
For additional information on our upcoming 2023 trip, please feel free to contact me at mschmeeckle@weldonvalley.org
