A HUGE thank you to everyone who attended and supported the FFA Hired Hand Event this last week. The WV FFA Chapter is appreciative of all the buyers, donations and attendees. The night was a great success!

Travelers: Feel free to stop by this evening to discuss our educational travel experiences. This June we're headed for Washington and New York. The early discount for our trip to Europe ends on the 15th of this month. Here is the upcoming schedule for our educational trips:

More Story Behind the Switch fun!
Weldon Valley Elementary students were "electrified" by the Story Behind the Switch this morning. Michelle Pastor, from Tri-State, and Maddie Pollart, from REA, came out to share information about electricity including indoor and outdoor electric safety. Students were also able to get hands-on and interact with a Van De Graaf generator and a plasma ball. It was a fun and interactive day! Thanks Morgan County REA and Tri-State for helping our students learn.
At the FFA Hired Hand Event on Tuesday March 7th, we will have two boxes of select cuts of locally naturally raised beef donated by Christensen Ranch to auction off!

Don't forget...tomorrow is our Senior Scholarship/Financial Aid Workshop/Open House from 9:30 am-12:00 pm in the board room! We will be hosting Janell Sutter, MCC Financial Aid Advisor, and Kathy Wood, WVS Board member. Janell will be answering any questions about FAFSA applications, scholarships, and applying to MCC, while Kathy will be giving advice and recommendations on scholarships and ways to make yourself stand out.
Parents, feel free to pop in if you have any FAFSA or scholarship questions. It will be done like a open house, so come whenever you can!

At the end of February, 16 FFA members attended the FFA District 14 Leadership Conference held in Brush at the Fairgrounds. District 14 Quiz Bowl Contest was also held. Congratulations to our WV members who placed Bronze at this contest.
This last week two Colorado FFA State Officers visited our FFA Chapter. The officers held workshops for each class focusing on communication and determination.
More students' projects that will be auctioned off at the FFA Hired Hand Event on March 7th! The antique table and tools were donated by Mr. Schmeeckle and refinished by FFA members. The chapter members have been working hard on various projects!
Here are a few more items to be auctioned off at the FFA Hired Hand Event. It is Tuesday night, March 7th. Dinner starts at 6 pm, auction starts at 7 pm. Business's donations & students' projects will be auctioned off as well as the main event of hiring a FFA member for work!
