Meet Mrs. Deganhart

I am the second-grade teacher Mrs. Jody Deganhart.  21 years ago I student taught at Weldon Valley School.  After college graduation I accepted the kindergarten teaching position at Trinity Lutheran School in Ft. Morgan.  I taught there for 6 years before the birth of our oldest.  I was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom for 5 years, returning to a 1st and 2nd grade job for a year at Trinity.  I then stayed home for another 4 years, subbing and doing in home daycare during that span.  During the 2023-24 school year, I was a co-director of the Weldon Valley Preschool, which leads me to here.  I have been teaching 2nd grade at Weldon Valley for the past two years, and love it. 

I enjoy helping students develop a love for learning.  I hope that through my teaching students will create a fondness for learning and believe they are capable of learning new and challenging things.  Teaching is a true passion of mine and I aim to make my classroom environment one that is engaging, inviting, and a positive experience for all that enter in.  

I am a mother of four, with my husband Luke, of 21 years.  Lincoln is a 8th grader, Kipton is in 7th, Mackson is in 2nd grade, and our youngest Kennedy is in kindergarten.  My greatest joy in life is my family.  We spend most of our time tending to our farm and animals.  When not busy chasing animals or children you might find me crafting, camping, gardening,  or playing games.
