On September 15th, all students Preschool–12th grade will listen to The Dot and complete a Dot Day activity. Each student's creation will become part of a school-wide Dot Day display in the cafeteria, allowing us to see all of the unique and creative "marks" made by our Weldon Valley students.
The Dot reminds us that every student has creativity, potential, and something unique to contribute. It encourages children to:
- Believe in themselves and their abilities
- Be willing to try—even when they aren't sure they can
- Take creative risks and think outside the box
- Celebrate their own unique talents
- Encourage and inspire others
- Understand that sometimes the hardest part is simply making a start!
These are important lessons for our students at every age. Whether a student is three years old or eighteen, we want them to know that their ideas matter, their creativity matters, and they have the ability to make their own mark on the world.
Students AND staff are invited to join in the fun by wearing polka dots or anything covered in dots!
