Weldon Valley School District CMAS Testing Announcement
Weldon Valley School District will soon begin its annual spring state assessments. These tests provide an important opportunity for students to demonstrate what they have learned!
Students in grades 3–8 will participate in the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) assessments. Please check the attached schedule to see what content area will be testing, for what grade level and when.
We ask that you have your student to school on time and present for all testing sessions - this reduces the number of make-up tests we have to complete.
We encourage all students to do their best and approach testing with confidence. We also recognize and celebrate student growth, particularly for those who demonstrate improvement by moving from one proficiency level to the next. Growth on these assessments reflects hard work, perseverance, and academic progress.
From 2024 to 2025, Weldon Valley had 50% of the student population who took the CMAS assessment achieved at grade level (met expectations), above grade level (exceeded expectations),or improved from one proficiency level to the next.
WAY TO GO WARRIORS!
For their hard work last year, these students will be receiving an afternoon trip to the movie theatre following the 2026 testing window (April 7th-23rd). Students who participate in testing this year and demonstrate growth by moving up a proficiency level or achieve in the exceeding category will be recognized for their achievement; they will earn the opportunity to attend a special afternoon trip to see the Colorado Rockies play next year. This experience is intended to celebrate students’ effort, progress, and commitment to their academic success.
If you have any questions regarding CMAS testing, please do not hesitate to reach out!
