Weldon Valley FBLA Students Earn Top Honors at District Leadership Conference

 

Forty members of Weldon Valley High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter competed at the FBLA District Leadership Conference in Sterling, Colorado Wednesday January 28th. The conference brought together students from across the district to demonstrate their business knowledge, leadership skills, and career readiness through objective testing, presentations, and role-play events.

The Top 4 in presentation and role-play events and the Top 3 on objective tests qualified to advance to the Colorado FBLA State Leadership Conference, which will be held at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center, April 2–4, 2026. A next to a student’s name indicates qualification for the State Leadership Conference.

Weldon Valley earned three First Place finishes: Josh Wells & Zander Braun, Computer Game & Simulation Programming; Scarlette Thomas-Groves, Impromptu Speaking; and Gabriella Garcia & Haylee Nelson, Visual Design.

Second Place honors were awarded to Skylar Scott, Public Administration & Management. Leila Groves & Seyda Thomas-Groves, Digital Animation; Leila Groves, Human Resource Management; August Filter, Insurance & Risk Management and Project Management and Dustin Ashlock, Agribusiness.

Third Place recognitions included Haylee Amen, Thea Covelli, and Grace Eiring, Digital Animation; McKenzie Cuckow & Piper Neal, Introduction to Business Presentation; Kayla Francone, Journalism; and Elyse Anderson & Charlie Archibeque, Broadcast Journalism.

Fourth Place awards were earned by Christina Roser, Public Service Announcement; Brogan Starner, Computer Problem Solving; Thea Covelli, Introduction to Business Concepts; Karson Koch, Introduction to Marketing Concepts; Jordan Iungerich, Retail Management; and Leena Mitchell, Real Estate.

Additional strong performances included Fifth Place finishes by Piper Neal, Introduction to FBLA; Kade Kohler, Economics; Maverick Hunter, Cyber Security; Lacinda Roser, Journalism; and Brevyn Starner, Public Administration & Management. Sixth Place honors went to Bo Lynch, Computer Problem Solving; Todd Makings, Data Science & AI; Maverick Hunter, Project Management; and Kayla Francone, Real Estate.

Seventh Place recognitions were awarded to Elyse Anderson, Advertising; Annaleah Alloway, Business Law; Kaylee Barkdoll, Health Care Administration; Ayden Rodriguez-Betancourt, Introduction to Retail & Merchandising; and Brevyn Starner, Retail Management. Eighth Place honors went to Brogan Starner, Cyber Security; Leanna LaBathe & Lacinda Roser, Introduction to Business Presentation; Seyda Thomas-Groves, Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure; Gabriella Garcia, Public Administration & Management; Michael Yule, Agribusiness; and Mickie Roser, Business Law.

Ninth Place recognitions were earned by Skylar Scott, Business Law; Leena Mitchell, Introduction to Social Media Strategy; and Leanna LaBathe, Journalism. Tenth Place honors went to Jordan Iungerich, Business Law; Joshua Wells, Cyber Security; Dustin Ashlock & Todd Makings, Introduction to Business Presentation; and Adrian Lopez-Lopez, Project Management.

Weldon Valley FBLA members represented their school with professionalism, preparation, and leadership throughout the conference. The chapter looks forward to competing at the State Leadership Conference in April.
