• Students are encouraged to read books at or above their challenge level.
• Students may take quizzes up to three times in an attempt to pass.
• Points will be awarded for passing quizzes.
• Students who write reviews of books they've read for the school web site will earn an additional 3 points for the review. 

  Reviews must have the name of the student, Title of the book and the author.

  Reviews must be at least two paragraphs long. The first paragraph outlines what the book is about. The second paragraph is the student's opinion of the book.

  Longer book reports may be awarded more points at the discretion of the teacher and/or librarian.

   

• Points will be cumulative. In other words for this first incentive period the students will need to earn 40 points. During the second incentive the students will need a total of 90 points and for the third incentive the students will need a total of 150 points.
• Written book reports will be required for the second and third incentives. Information will be provided at that time.
• Students must participate in the activity for each time period.
• There will be three incentive programs during the year. Certificates of achievement will be presented at the quarter honors assemblies. Individual awards will be awarded to top point earners at the end of the year.
• Students on ILPs will earn double points for books read and quizzes passed.
• Students in K-2nd grade will receive prizes for every 10 points they earn.
